Originally designed for gamers, Windows 10 offers a quick recording function.  If you record a lot of meetings, especially if you do not want to screen capture everything, you might want to use the Myna recorder, which links directly to your calendar, and so starts and stop automatically. Recording using the native Windows recorder uses up a lot of disk space, and for free Cloud Storage accounts, may make you hit your storage limit very quickly

Very quick start

Once you are in the application you want to record (it *must* be full screen), just hit:

⊞ Win+G, ⊞ Win+Alt+M, ⊞ Win+Alt+R, Esc

To stop:

  1.  ⊞ Win+Alt+R; or
  2.  Exit Full Screen
  3.  Stop the meeting application
  4.  Click the stop button (see more below)

To set up the correct defaults for the video clips (which are powered by the Windows Gaming mode) go to:

Configure the capture settings as follows, paying particular attention to the parts highlighted in yellow:

If you want to upload these clips direct to Myna, you can set the capture path to point to your cloud storage folder, eg Dropbox using these instructions which are copied from here:

Recording

Pretty much as per the section above with one less step, now that your defaults are properly configured:

Once you are in the application you want to record (it *must* be full screen), just hit:

⊞ Win+G, ⊞ Win+Alt+R, Esc

Or

⊞ Win+G

then click recording button

then Esc

You will now see a recording bar appear:

This allows you to stop the recording, and to mute the audio
