Using AI Summaries and Action Items

Generating a Summary

  1. Open any transcribed recording in Myna.
  2. Click the Summarise button.
  3. Myna sends the transcript to your local Ollama instance for processing.
  4. Within a few moments, you will see a summary and extracted action items.

What You Get

  • Summary — 3 to 5 concise bullet points capturing the key discussion topics and decisions
  • Action Items — specific tasks mentioned during the call, with the speaker who committed to them where identifiable

How It Works

Myna sends your transcript text (including speaker labels like "You" and "Remote") to the Ollama model running on your machine. The model analyses the conversation and extracts the most important points.

Where Summaries Are Saved

Summaries are saved as summary.txt in the same folder as your recording. You can open this file with any text editor.

Privacy

Your transcript is only sent to Ollama running on localhost (127.0.0.1). It never leaves your computer. No data is transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or API. This is a fundamental design principle of Myna.
