Setting Your Transcription Language

Setting Your Transcription Language

Supported Languages

Myna supports transcription in over 20 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi, and more.

Setting a Default Language

  1. Go to Settings > Transcription.
  2. Select your preferred language from the Default Language dropdown.
  3. All future transcriptions will use this language setting.

Why Setting a Default Matters

Setting a default language improves transcription accuracy significantly. When the model knows which language to expect, it produces better results and processes faster.

Auto-Detect Mode

If you frequently record in different languages, you can set the language to Auto-Detect. The Whisper model will automatically identify the spoken language.

Note: Auto-detect is slower than specifying a language and may occasionally misidentify the language, especially for short recordings or mixed-language conversations. For best results, set a specific default language.
