Where Is My Data Stored?

All your data is stored locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded or synced to any cloud service.

Recordings and Transcripts

By default, recordings are stored in:

C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Myna\recordings\

You can change this location in Settings > Storage.

Each recording gets its own folder with human-readable names (e.g., 2024-01-15_14-30-00_zoom-call). Inside you will find your audio files, transcript files, and metadata — all in standard, open formats.

Application Configuration

Myna's settings and configuration are stored in:

%APPDATA%\com.meetmyna.app\

Calendar Cache

If you connect a calendar, Myna stores a temporary local cache of your calendar events in a SQLite database. This cache is used for meeting detection and recording naming. It is stored alongside your app configuration and can be cleared at any time.

Sensitive Data

Sensitive items are stored in the Windows Credential Manager (the operating system's encrypted credential store):

  • OAuth tokens for calendar connections
  • Your licence key

These are encrypted by the operating system and are not accessible to other applications.

Uninstalling Myna

Uninstalling Myna does not delete your recordings. Your recording files remain in your Documents folder (or wherever you configured storage). This is by design — your data is yours, and we will never delete it automatically.
