What Network Connections Does Myna Make?

Myna is designed to work offline. It only makes network connections for four specific purposes, all of which are transparent and user-controlled.

1. Calendar Sync (Optional, User-Initiated)

If you connect Google Calendar or Microsoft 365, Myna makes read-only API calls to fetch your calendar events. This only happens when you explicitly connect a calendar and is used to match recordings with meeting names.

2. Licence Activation (One-Time)

When you enter a licence key, Myna makes a single HTTPS request to our licence server to validate it. The result is cached locally. Myna does not phone home on every launch — re-validation happens at most once every 30 days.

3. Model Downloads (One-Time)

When you download a transcription model (from Settings > Transcription), Myna downloads the model file from HuggingFace. This is a one-time download per model.

4. Auto-Update (Optional)

Myna can check for and download updates automatically. This feature is optional and can be disabled in Settings.

What Is NEVER Sent Over the Network

  • Audio recordings — never transmitted
  • Transcripts — never transmitted
  • AI summaries — never transmitted (processed by local Ollama only)
  • Personally identifiable information — never collected or transmitted
  • Usage analytics or telemetry — none collected

This is not just a policy — it is an architectural constraint built into the application. Myna does not contain the code to upload your data anywhere.
